The Torrevieja

Located near the two big lagoons namely "Laguna de la Mata" and also "Laguna de Torrevieja" this place is a great sight for tourists. The water is pink in color and the reason for this color is the bacteria that are found only in this region. The beaches in this region are truly amazing as they stretch as long as 14 kms. The most prominent beach is the Playa de La Mata that is situated very near to the natural park in that region. The park is called the "Laguna de la Mata". The beach is supposed to be the longest and it has an area of 2 kms and many sand dunes that are worth a visit. The place can be reached through the beach promenade and you will see many different kinds of bars as well as the restaurants serving different cuisine.

The beach is self contained and you get a whole lot of facilities and amenities to cater to the needs of the foreign tourists. Besides, the beach also caters to the special needs of the disabled community.  Apart from the beach you also find other beaches on the south like Playa de Cabo Cervera which is located near the Cape Cervera. To get a fantastic view of the entire region do visit the "Torre del Moro" which is a tall tower. You can get a panoramic view of the Santa Pola cape till Mar Menor that lies on the southern side of the region.

After these exotic beaches you will go down further to visit the Las Calas that is also famous for its beaches and is a great place for the divers. Another beach that has many amenities lies in the middle of the town known as Playa de Los Locos.  This place is crowded with tourists during the season as it’s in the centre of the town and easily accessible by the people spanish villas. The most popular beach is the Playa del Cura which has several restaurants and also bars. The night life in this place is too good with lot of sound, music and dance.

The food here is amazing with lot of varieties. If you happen to visit this place never miss to taste the local delicacy Pulpo Seco which is a squid dish that is dried under the hot sun for some days and cooked along with olive oil and some lemon juice. The dish is good along with the local liquor Paloma.
